Types Of Foundation Available
Liquid Foundation: Offers light to medium coverage. Available in moisturizing formulas with a satin finish for dry skin or oil-free versions with a matte finish for oily skins.
Cream Foundation: Offers light to medium coverage, slightly heavier than a liquid. Great for dry skin. Avoid using if you have oily or combination skin.
Stick: Foundation sticks also double as concealers. The new gel or powder finish formulas are not as heavy or greasy as the older "pancake" formulas.
Dual-finish compact formulas (liquid to powder or cream to powder): Medium coverage Great for combination skin, but should be avoided by those with excessively dry skin or who need heavier coverage. Can tend to dry out your face.
Tinted moisturizer: Can be used under foundation or alone for minimal to no coverage. Almost like a liquid bronzer.
Mineral Powder Foundation: Offers light to full coverage. Comes in every shade and tone imaginable. VERY easy and fast to apply. Longer lasting than most foundations. Controls oil and most are waterproof with a natural SPF!

Found some great tips around and thought it would be cool to get it to continue to adds on!!!
Before applying any liquid or powder foundation, make sure you clean your face first. Use a gentle face cleanser to remove any dirt. This will help your foundation glide on smoothly and stay on longer.
The middle finger is generally your weakest digit; use that finger tip to gently pat liquid foundation on the blemish or dark spot. If you don't like the idea of getting makeup on your finger tips, then use a facial sponge to gently apply liquid foundation. Wait until liquid foundation is dry before using a makeup brush to apply a foundation powder, like Fresh Finish Loose Powder, evenly over your skin. The powder foundation helps set the liquid foundation and allows it to stay on longer. For a natural look and when your skin is behaving like it should–Mix 1 part foundation to 1 – 2 parts moisturizer (based on the amount of coverage you need). Ta-dah! You have instant tinted moisturizer! I usually just wear moisturizer and sunscreen with light powder on top while it's wet.
Sometimes it is helpful to add a small amount of oil-free face moisturizer, like Clarifying Moisture Balance, to your foundation, especially if you are trying to cover a red spot on your skin. The added moisture helps calm skin.
People has used those gross gunk that accumulates at the rim of your foundation bottle? It’s the concentrated version of your perfect color-matched foundation – it’s your customized concealer – for FREE! Use a small concealer brush to apply your concentrated foundation to blemishes after you’ve applied your foundation. Let it sit for a bit, then blend out the edges, and finally, set with a translucent powder.) I don't usually use this but I have tried it and it works out pretty well. It doesn't work too well when your skin is dry though. So use a good amount of moisturizer before hand. Tip: Wipe off the old gunk (it’s probably too thick and dark at this point). Within a day or two, you will have a new layer of concentrated foundation around the bottle rim to work with.
This is definitely something that I do on a daily basis. I like to blend a little bit of glitter when it's a night look. If you have a liquid foundation and a loose mineral eyeshadow (preferably in a light, iridescent shade), you have a highlighter. Sculpt cheekbones and define brows by mixing a few pinches of loose mineral eye shadow into your liquid foundation. Play with it until you get the right luminosity and consistency. Free liquid highlighter! Now, use a couple of dabs on your cheekbones, under your brow, or on your decolletage for a healthy glow. Hint: It’s also an inexpensive way to disguise marks and bruises on legs and arms.
When I want a true color lips with drugstore makeup. I apply a layer of foundations on my lips. Applying foundation to your eyelids and on your lips (yes, directly on your mouth) to neutralize underlying shades works magics; so I never get why people use concealers. Set with a translucent powder and you’ve got a beautiful, clean canvas! Your red lips will pop, your colorful eye shadows will be more vibrant and your overall look will be polished and professional – not to mention, it will last much longer!
